A Bright Future Ahead!

Today I predict Canada will rid itself from the shackles of one party rule, standing up with a new voice and vision for the country. Throughout the last few weeks the Conservatives have withstood some of the most viscious attacks our country has ever seen. It is great to see a once dominant political force squirm in the face of defeat, a separatist party unable to fulfill its promise of over 50% and a party full of nuts wondering why they can never get more than 18%. I was happy to see a party with a clear vision for the nation with new and logical policies proving to all Canadians when they deserve your vote. Just goes to show some people are able to see through fear tactics and despiration; using blind patriotism as a ballot question.
Heading into this election, polls are indicating a 37/27/19 for Conservatives/Liberals/NDP. Take note these numbers are in line with the 36-41% the Liberals have recieved the last 4 election cycles. Currently we are looking at a Conservative minority, although I am hoping for a majority as our government needs to be responsive and effective as it overhauls 12 years of Liberal rule.
For your information, the Conservatives have been endorsed by every major newspaper in the country and others like the Economist which is one of the most respected media sources in the world (endorsed Kerry this past US election). The long list of endorsements: Globe and Mail, National Post, The Economist, Vancouver Sun, Vancouver Province, Calgary Herald, Winnipeg Free Press, London Free Press, Ottawa Citizen, Ottawa Sun, Windsor Star, Montreal Gazette, La Presse, Le Soleil, Winnipeg Sun, Brandon Sun, Edmonton Journal, Calgary Sun, Toronto Sun, Edmonton Sun, Moncton Times.
Even if you are not voting along the same lines as I, please vote...it's a right and freedom, something people fought hard for.

they certainly earned it, playing a cleaner campaign compared to the liberals... let's see what they do now

Endorsed by every major paper, except for the single biggest-circulation in the country. But that's a detail.

Oh, also. You say that the CPC are no threat to national unity, and say the Liberals' corruption is more likely to drive away Quebeckers. But the concern is the tendancy of the CPC to make deals with sovereigntists-- Lucien Bouchard was a federal Minister in the last Conservative gov't, and this was the same party that pushed the fairly disasterous Meech Lake Accord.
Harper is going to have to get supporting votes from somewhere. It's unlikely to be the NDP, and the Liberals aren't his best friend right now either. No prizes for most likely to cut a deal with the new PM. And he's said he's willing to, to boot.

Can we just title this one "White male with white-collar job endorses Conservatives", or is "Status Quo Maintained" better?

All those posts are annoying, but i'll address in one post.
The toronto star is known as a huge supplier to metro toronto (still misinformed on the conservative party). Therefore endorsing a party their customers obviously don't support doesn't help their corporate interests. The vast majority of media outlets in Canada and well respected firms like the Economist (Kerry supporters, will mention again), endorsed the Conservatives. I think this is a huge credit to the Conservatives, look down on it if you must, but sounds like jealousy to me.
I was just about to make a post about the successes of the new Conservative parliament, I'll show where the support will come from. (stay tuned!)
The colour of my skin or status in life has nothing to do with my political leanings. Assuming these naive generalizations will just set our society back, fact of the matter is; the conservatives rallied almost as much support as the Liberals had in their majority terms (4% difference) and has shown as an effective mainstream alternative.
Thanks for your comments though, I enjoy educating those who are misinformed :)

well, I'm happt with the election results. No party got what they were hoping for, so I think we, citezens, won.
conservatives wanted a majority
liberals wanted to hold on to power
bloc wanted 50% of popular vote
NDP wanted the balance of power
I think this will be good for a year, then we can elect another majority liberal government then.

When people see how moderate the conservatives are (helped by the minority in some cases), a majority will be a reasonable goal next election for the Conservatives.
The liberal party's finances are horrible and lack the grassroots support the other 3 parties have.

"bloc wanted 50% of popular vote"
are you serious?
you do realize the population of quebec is not 50% of canada right?

Arya, Bloc wanted 50% of popular vote where they had candidates...
Remember, Canada isn't part of their country ;)
